Can i replace my Compaq hp laptop hard drive with any laptop hard drive?
I want to upgrade my laptop hard drive to a better one but i don't know if i need to have a HP specific hard drive. can i just go to best buy or office depot and get a hard drive that is compatible with my laptop specs?

My older sister has an hp pavilion laptop and every time she uses it she constantly has to leave the charger plugged in or the battery will die and shut down quickly. What do you think the problem is? I told her it might be that she needs to change the battery itself because it might not be working anymore. Is that right? Help me out please and thank you.
How do you make the bar with the start menu apear while on the internet on an hp laptop?
i was playing gta san andreas pc and accidentaly pressed the windows button inbetween fn and alt without pausing the game so the cursor was stuck in the top left corner near the back arrow so i just pressed a bunch of buttons to try and get the game to close esc didnt work after pressing most of them the toolbar taskbar with the start menu at the bottom of the screen disappeared and whenever i try to go online it disappears. It does appear on the background. To stop the game I held the power button to turn off the whole thing and the bar at the bottom wont appear while online. my laptop switches to windows 7 basic or something when I play the game and switches back afterwards, but the bar at the top of the screen looks different so I think it stayed on basic because i forced shutdown. If anyone could tell me how to get the bar on the bottom back and switch my laptop back to non basic i would be greatly appreciative. My laptop is an HP I got in November of 09 but I dont know the exact model.
Why doesnt my hp laptop burn audio cd?

How Do I Install My HP Laptop's Battery?
I have an HP Compaq Laptop, a few months ago its battery stopped charging itself, I took it to my local computer store who tested the battery and told me I needed a new one. I made sure of the correct model number and bought a new battery from ebay. That arrived and I attempted to install it.The laptop " changes its mind" about the new battery. At the moment it says 100 % charged. Other times it says various percentages of battery strength and sometimes it says its charging, and other times gives me the " plugged in, not charging" treatment. Regardless of what the laptop says, the battery cannot run the laptop for any length of time.If I disconnect the charger even for a second the laptop loses power. This is obviously incredibly annoying because I can't use my laptop on the move. I've tried a few " fixes" I've found on the internet such as making sure the system bios is up to date, and reinstalling the power management in device manager but none of this seems to make any difference.I have noticed over time that the battery can keep the laptop on for about ten seconds if the laptop is closed and " asleep" , which it couldn't do when I first got the new battery, if I try to boot the laptop without the charger attached it can run off the battery for a few seconds.I am out of ideas and would appreciate some help if anyone knows what to do.
